Who’s Behind Gill, Denson & Company?

You may know Gill, Denson & Company as your favorite property tax advisors, but who are the people behind the scenes? We thought we’d share more about ourselves with you and how we got started in the property tax industry.

Our three co-founders, Charles Denson, Morgan Gill, and Richie Gill, have all been in the real estate industry for over 10 years. They met during their undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin and have been sharing their passion for helping property owners ever since!

Q: How did you get into the property tax sector of the real estate industry?

Charles started in real estate accounting before moving into multi-family sales and then owning and managing commercial assets with Richie and Morgan. Richie has had a passion for real estate and a deep commitment to advocating for property owners for as long as he can remember.

For Morgan, her years of experience in real estate and marketing perfectly complement her talent for connecting with people. She understands not just the industry but also the concerns and frustrations of property owners navigating complex tax systems. It felt natural for all of them to move into the property tax sector and help others navigate their way through the system.

Q: How did the company get its start?

Charles, Morgan, and Richie started Gill, Denson & Company Tax Advisors in 2019 to expand their tax protesting services beyond their own managed assets. They saw firsthand how property taxes affect both residential and commercial property owners and wanted to help other Texans reduce their tax burdens. “Homeowners and businesses should not be overtaxed by the government that serves them, and I will passionately defend that every day,” says Charles.

All three founders share this dedication to defending their clients. “We fight tirelessly to ensure our clients pay only their fair share,” adds Richie. “We built our firm on the belief that every client deserves personalized attention, strategic expertise, and a relentless pursuit of the lowest possible property tax bill.”

Q: What do you love most about what you do?

“My favorite part is helping property owners with unique property tax situations that they otherwise would not be able to do on their own,” says Charles. He took a case pro bono to help an elderly widow when her husband’s death certificate wasn’t processed correctly by the county deed clerk. She received a refund check of about $25,000, recouping years of retroactive errors from the county. That’s life-changing for an 89-year-old widow on a fixed income.

Morgan finds meaning in the lasting impact she’s able to make, ensuring that more people can access the savings they deserve. She believes education is power and works tirelessly to translate complicated tax issues into clear, actionable steps. Whether that’s informing property owners about their rights, the protest process, or how they can fight back against unfair tax assessments.
